Top 10 Resources
for Lehman Transfer Students

So you’ve just stepped onto the Lehman College campus for
the first time, and you’re wondering, “What resources does Lehman offer to me,
a new transfer student?”
Well, keep reading to find out more about the top 10
resources that Lehman College has to offer to its transfers, and all of its
beloved students!
1)
The Transfer
Coaching Program- Currently located in Old Gym 118, this program works closely
with transfers to ensure a smooth transition into Lehman College, while
introducing them to campus life and resources through an array of workshops,
social events, and informative tabling sessions. Sadly, this grant funded program
will only be available to students for a limited time, so take advantage of it
now!

Leonard Lief Library-
Aside from the usual benefits of a library, the Leonard Lief Library also provides
additional services to Lehman students including:

Study rooms for groups of students
·
24/7 access to librarians by phone, face to face
visit, or live chat online
·
Ipad loans for use on site for the day, or off
campus for up to 2 days
·
Reserve collection for students to borrow
required course readings with a valid Lehman ID
3) Child Care
Center- Many Lehman students are also parents. The
college accommodates this through its brand new, state of the art child care
center which offers a safe, supportive, and stable educational environment for
children on campus at affordable rates. There are toddler, pre-school, and
after-school programs. These services are available to currently enrolled,
matriculated students during class-related times and activities on campus.

Career Services- (Shuster Hall room 259) Career Counselors prepare Lehman students to compete for
jobs in today's competitive market. Students are offered career counseling, résumé
and cover letter building tips, interview preparation, and job info sessions.

Student Support
Services- Several services on campus are focused on assisting Lehman
students in both their academic and personal lives. Some of these services include:

Academic Center for Excellence (Old Gym 205): Offers
workshops and tutoring for undergraduate and graduate students in writing, the
humanities, and social sciences

Science Learning Center (Gillet 133): Offers workshops and tutoring in various science
courses
·
Counseling Center (Old Gym 114): Offers free and confidential therapy which is provided in a safe environment where students can address issues that may be keeping them from attaining their academic goals.
·
Student Health Center (T-3 118): A primary care facility available to all Lehman College students with a validated I.D. Most of the services are free of charge, while some have a small fee.

APEX - Houses
the college swimming pool, basketball court, indoor track, workout center, and
dance rooms. These facilities are FREE for students with a valid Lehman ID
card.

The Meridian- Lehman’s
monthly periodical helps you catch up with all of the latest occurrences on
campus. If you are unable to obtain your own hard-copy of the Meridian, the newspaper
is also published online:

The IT Center -
Located in Carman Hall room 108, this is Lehman’s go to place for technological
assistance. You can also use the center’s computers and printers to work on class
assignments.

Lehman Webmail-
Every Lehman student has a college email account (typically first name.last name
@lc.cuny.edu). Through this account, students are sent important emails regarding
deadlines, classes, campus events, and other opportunities. Check it regularly!
You can also access Microsoft Office for FREE through your Lehman College webmail.
10) Student Life Building- The newly
renovated Student Life Building is a great place to find respite and solace
from a busy day of classes. You can “chillax” and play some games or just hang
out with friends. This is also the place to go if you are interested in joining
one (or more) of the many student clubs on campus!
